They NEED to start casting normal looking people in movies. I can’t take fight scenes seriously when everyone’s too hunky. Die weird and ugly like a real man.
In all seriousness part of it could be from Smallant, a streamer who adores wooper (which is why sometimes you’ll see me tag woopy boi), it could partially be the new variant causing fondness for it, or it could just be that they’re adorable!
What do y'all think? Why did you vote for wooper over its opponents?
For me, playing gen 2 as a kid it was the water/ground dual typing that did it for me. Finally, I could have a water friend that wasn’t going to be immediately destroyed by electric pokemon. Quagsire was my guy!
I fell in love with Wooper and Quagsire while playing HeartGold. While in Team Rocket’s base, if you talk to your following Pokémon, they’ll say something like “Meganium roared!” or “Typhlosion growled!” But when I talked to Quagsire, it was always “Quagsire did a happy dance!” or “Oh! Quagsire suddenly hugged you!” I was like, this boy is too precious for this world, he’s so stupid, I love him.
